Rose Acre Farms, who manufactures out of Seymour, Indiana is recalling hundreds of millions of eggs for possible salmonella contamination. The contamination affected 206,749,248 eggs which were sold by major retailers across the country including Walmart. The Food and Drug Administration have reported that so far 22 illnesses have been identified in relation to the eggs so far.

The tainted eggs were distributed in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Afte illnesses were reported in states along the U.S. East Coast, FDA launched a number of extensive interviews which led to an inspection of the farm in Hyde County, North Carolina that produced the eggs.

Amoung other brands, the eggs were distibuted and packaged under Country Daybreak, Food Lion, Sunshine Farms, Crystal Farms, and Great Value eggs.
