Founding member of the Eagles and Royal Oak, Michigan native Glen Frey passed away today.

Before founding the Eagles with Don Henley, Frey played guitar and sang back up for Bob Seger at the age of 19.  He went on to play guitar for Linda Ronstadt, where he met Don Henley.  The rest, as they say, is history.

Glen Frey talks about his Michigan roots in the documentary "History of the Eagles (Part 1)"

According to NBC Nightly News, "He died from complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia, the Eagles announced on Facebook."

We've seen a lot of celebrities pass away in the passed 10 days.

Between Glen Frey and David Bowie, we've lost 2 huge pioneers in music.
