"Never say never". In the face of a spate of season cancellations, it appeared there might not be college football played in Michigan this year. But, first, it was the Big Ten, helped by some contentious arm-twisting, then on Thursday, the Pac-12 and the Mountain West, and finally, today, the MAC joined them, voting to play football late this fall.

First, they cancelled, then yesterday, the Mid American Conference said it again, "no fall football, maybe spring". That was then, this is now.

A very murky college football picture for the 2020 season is, maybe, starting to take shape, but there are still more questions than answers, and with, whatever label we are choosing to put on this,  the recent spike in Covid-19 cases, all this planning may be for naught...

Western Michigan University's football Broncos picked up a running back today from Michigan State University. A former Mr.Football in Michigan, La'Darius Jefferson, who entered transfer protocol last October, will be playing football on Stadium Drive this fall.

Talk about going out with a flourish. Western Michigan quarterback Jon Wassink, who led the Broncos to seven wins this season, will play in the First Responder Bowl in Dallas on December 30th. Two weeks later, he gets married. But this stretch of big events begins with the announcement today Wassink has won the Danny Wuerffel Trophy.

If you were worried that Georgia State was maybe as good as their season opening upset over SEC school Tennessee, it turns out there really was nothing to worry about.

The Western Michigan Bronco Football team will have its hands full this Saturday against a surprisingly good Georgia State football team. But what alumni. That's a tough call. Georgia State has a biggie.

Quarterback Jon Wassink threw five touchdown passes, including two to tight end Giovanni Ricci, to lead the Western Michigan University Broncos to a season opening 48-13 trouncing of Monmouth at Waldo Stadium.
