Kalamazoo roads are dramatically better than most cities in the U.S. according to a recent study.

Jokingly, we all know the two constants in life are death and taxes. However, during a pandemic, that is all too real, and certainly not a source for humor, just a wry observation. In the same breath, any Michigander knows, you can add road construction to that combo.

Normally getting word of a road construction project would at least get a mild chagrin, but with everything we're dealing with now, it's actually welcome news that promises that someday we may get back to good. And besides, there's little if any traffic these days, so do it now.

A couple of important road projects in Southwest Michigan have received grants from the state of Michigan to get fixed.

Summer construction plans for the 2020 season are becoming public. The Michigan Department of Transportation says they'll be conducting an open house to present the Dickman Road (I -94 Business Loop) construction project planned for Battle Creek and Springfield.

And the hits just keep on comin'. Look for another traffic pain, as you try and navigate around downtown Kalamazoo.
