Most of us have been going to Cedar Point all our lives and have seen a lot of rides close forever at the park.

To you and me, it's a place to have fun; ride the roller coasters, eat food, and not have a care in the world. But the business of fun these days is no fun, especially if your Cedar Point. The company that owns SeaWorld is making a hostile takeover bid for Cedar Fair, the parent company of Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio. Most people in Michigan know Cedar Point or another amusement facility, Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon.

Coaster people, rejoice. All people, rejoice. Friday, May 14th, Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio opens up for the weekend and for the season.

The immediate headline may raise a few eyebrows, but eventually, you have to figure, we will return to some level of normal. Right?

I hope this doesn't begin to sound like a coach's pep talk, but we are getting closer to maybe being past this horrible pandemic. We can't take our eyes off the prize. And for many 'round these parts, the prize is a trip to Cedar Point.

In a year that's been essentially destroyed by the pandemic, maybe this is a a glimmer of good news. Cedar Point is hiring for fall.

Today marks 150 days until opening day so they've announced the following additions to the park

Cedar Fair, the Ohio company that owns Cedar Point. Michigan's Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm in California, and eight other amusement parks around the country, has rejected a $4 Billion dollar offer from Six Flags Entertainment Corp, the owners of Six Flags Amusement Parks.

The Detroit Free-Press is reporting that the company that owns Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, has been approached by the company that own the Six Flags group of amusement parks about the possibility of merging.
