Western Michigan Hockey Going To Their First National Championship
The Western Michigan Broncos have been a dominant force in NCAA hockey for quite a few years now, and as someone who has kept an eye on the team, you could see that something special is brewing this year.
Last night, the Western Michigan University Broncos men’s hockey team played in the Frozen Four, or semifinal matchup for the NCAA championship against Denver. Throughout the year, Western Michigan University has found ways to win in overtime, which is exactly what they did last night in double overtime, stealing a victory and heading for their first national championship game ever.

Owen Michaels lit the lamp, his second of the game, 26 seconds into double overtime on Thursday night in St. Louis to send WMU to the Frozen Four Championship game. You can watch the video of the goal below:

Meeting them in the championship game will be Boston University, who took down Penn State in their semifinal game, three to one. The championship game will be streamed on ESPN+2, on Sunday night at 7:30.
The Western Michigan University Broncos look for their first hockey championship ever. Boston University has historically had one of the best hockey programs in the country, so for Western Michigan University to take this team down in the finals would be a storybook ending to a phenomenal year.
