Some of the funniest moments in broadcast football games are when someone gets caught on a hot mic. In fact, it's kind of become a game in some locker rooms to come up with the best vulgar audible call that broadcasts would have to mute field audio moving forward.

Foul mouths are kind of expected anymore, though, and it's really not as taboo as it used to be. So maybe it's almost an achievement to be proud of when you're named as the fan base with the foulest mouths in the entire league. That honor just so happens to go to the Detroit Lions this year!

Flashpicks has released a new study on the foulest mouths in the NFL, and of all 32 fanbases, the Detroit Lions came out on top!

The survey was done by calculating the number of swear words posted in the last year on social media platforms regarding their teams. So, it makes sense that toward the end of last season, Lions fans might have been posting "Holy S**t" quite a bit more than usual.

Now, the study ACTUALLY called these top team fanbases the "rudest" in the NFL, but as I mentioned before, the amount of cursing a person does during a game anymore is actually kind of a badge of honor.

Not surprisingly, the highest amount of cursing from Lions fans came from Reddit, which is a dumpster fire of ill-behaved Ne'er-do-wells. On that platform alone in the official Lions Reddit Fan Forum, Lions fans scored a perfect 10 out of 10 on the cursing scale, and were caught 288 times using foul language... which honestly feels low. However, it should be no surprise that our favorite word started with an "F."

Lions fans, by and large, were at the to for several other individual words as well, including the "C-bomb" and "B*tch."

Just as a comparison, the Green Bay Packers ranked 11th for foulest mouths in the league, and only cursed 158 times in their Reddit fan forum. Strangely enough, fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars had some of the cleanest mouths in the league... but, I guess, when nobody's watching the games, there's nobody to curse at them to begin with.

So stand up and be proud Lions fans, We F**king Did it!!
