Donuts & Beer Festival Returning To Michigan This October
At some point in time, someone had the forethought to ask a dangerous question: "What would happen if I made an entire festival that paired delicious donuts with tasty beer?" It's a crucial question because you have to look at two seemingly different, but amazing things.
First, you have the donut, which comes in all sorts of flavors and styles and, although shouldn't technically be eaten in the morning, is a perfect sugary treat to give you that boost, and then immediate sugar crash in the morning. Then you have beer, which is one of the greatest man-made creations to ever exist, and also comes in a variety of flavors and styles.
But when you mix the two together it makes for a super fun time, and a celebration of two things Michiganders and Michigan businesses are elite at creating. Thus, the Donuts & Beer Festival was born, and returns once again after a five-year tour across the Midwest on Saturday, October 19th at Homer Stryker Field in Kalamazoo, as they've announced on their event page:
This year’s festival promises to be a family-friendly affair, featuring over 200 unique and local vendors serving one-of-a-kind donuts, alongside 150+ beer, cider, and seltzer selections. The event will also include entertainment for all ages, with a live performance by Matt Scannell, lead singer of Vertical Horizon, as well as captivating acts like Alex the Fire Breather, face painting, caricature artists, inflatables, college football watch party and more.
The entire idea here is to get in on the action and see if I can be a special judge for this event, for scientific research reasons of course.
