Yeah, you read that headline right, the University of Michigan has a campus all the way on the other side of the country. I can't say that I'm surprised that they have a campus in Los Angeles, but it is new information to me. Imagine being able to live in LA and take classes while earning a diploma from one of the greatest public institutions in the world.

The Ross School of Business in Downtown Los Angeles opened back in 2012 when the university wanted a second home for its Executive MBA program. Since its establishment the LA campus has served as a hub of educational programming for executives. Now, Michigan Ross has announced a major upgrade coming to the LA campus.

As you can see above, the new campus will be located in the Grand Ave Arts Corridor at the Grand LA. This area is a popular area in LA that is known for entertainment venues, iconic art, and theater while also being in close proximity to LA's business district. Sharon Matusik, the Edward J. Frey Dean of Business at U-M Ross had this to say about the upgrade:

We are thrilled to raise a maize and blue flag in downtown LA through this amazing facility on the West Coast that will embody the excellence, innovation, vibrant setting and enthusiastic ‘Go Blue’ pride associated with Michigan Ross and the University of Michigan

In addition to the educational and business opportunities that the new location will offer to the EMBA students, The campus will also be used for hosting various events and conferences for Ross students, alums and corporate partners, as well as the broader U-M community.
