Popular Chain Restaurant May Be Closing Locations In Michigan
Over the last 5 years, businesses have been closing at an exponential rate especially in here in Michigan. Obviously, the shutdown from the COVID-19 pandemic is a large contribution to this but there has also been a lot of construction which has really impacted foot traffic business. We have seen hundreds of stores and businesses close over the last half decade and it's not slowing down anytime soon.
Most companies have been reporting that they have seen a significant decline in their sales over this 5-year period and have been trying to find ways to cut back on expenses. Most of the time those cuts involve the closing of underperforming locations which means people will be out of a job. Michigan should prepare for this to be the case again with a long-time restaurant.
Denny's has announced that they will be closing some of their locations across the United States by the end of 2025. They have said that 150 of their underperforming restaurants will have their doors shuttered in the coming year as the company tries to avoid bankruptcy.
They have blamed traffic patterns, outdated locations, and restaurant inflation for their reasons for the widespread closures, which falls along the recent trends of other chain closings. They have not announced which locations will be closing just yet, but it's safe to say that Michigan may see a few closures since there are 12 locations, one in each of the following cities:
- Battle Creek
- East Lansing
- Grand Rapids
- Jackson
- Kalamazoo
- Kentwood
- Lansing
- Marshall
- Saginaw
- Taylor
- Traverse City
- Wyoming
