I think almost everyone on the Earth wants to be able that they hold or have held a Guiness World Record (GWR) during their lifetime. Like honestly, holding a world record in whatever it is has to be one of the highest achievements known to man. Being able to say that you've done something that nobody else has done is one thing but to be able to pull out a book or multiple books with your face and record in it is another level.

I know I'm not the only one that grew up flipping through the pages of the Guiness Book of World Records looking for a record that you think you could beat or better yet, trying to come up with your own outrageous record that would surely land you on the page. You're probably a lot like me right now too, nowhere near any of those records and you surely haven't tried any of those crazy ideas you once had. Well, for those of us living in Michigan we have a chance to be a part of a world record in Southwest Michigan.

The Kalamazoo Wings are a professional hockey team that plays in the East Coach Hockey League (ECHL) and has been providing exciting hockey and memorable moments for fans for decades. This wouldn't be the first time the Kalamazoo Wings chase history as they set a GWR in 2019 for the largest lightsaber battle. This year, they are asking their fans for some help for the second time as they try to get themselves and the Wings Event Center in the Guiness Book of World Records again.

The Kalamazoo Wings are going to attempt to set a GWR during their home opener on Saturday October 19th against the Cincinnati Cyclones. This year, they are searching to set the record for the most foam fingers waving simultaneously but that isn't the only news that the Kalamazoo Wings announced as they have two more gifts for the fans.

They have released their jerseys for the Warrior/ECHL Hockey Heritage Weekend series against the Toledo Walleye and they have an interesting look as they are ditching the bright red for the weekend. As you can see below, the color palette chosen for this weekend may have something to do with the initiative, but this jersey just doesn't scream "Kalamazoo Wings" like the others do.

Lastly, the Kalamazoo Wings will have a presentation of the Stanley Cup and other prestigious NHL Award trophies available for fans to experience during the Hockey Heritage Weekend series against Toledo which will be Jan 17th and Jan 18th of 2025 at the Wings Event Center. Now you know that the home opener isn't just the start of their 50th season but also a chance to make history.
