Creative Detroit Lions Fan Transforms Michigan Yard Into Ford Field

The last year has been what Detroit Lions fans have been hoping and praying for since the mid 1990s, a winning football team that they can be proud to cheer for. Last season ended with an appearance in the NFC Championship game and this season has started with a 4-1 record which has the city of Detroit rejoicing.

Fans have been coming out with songs, creating merchandise, and bragging to other teams in the league about how well the Lions are doing, it's truly a fascinating sight. The creativity of the Detroit Lions fanbase is second to none as they have been going viral all year for their ideas. Another Lions fan has reached internet stardom for his creative tribute to his favorite team.

Brad Smith, a Detroit Lions fan from Woodhaven has gone viral for turning his front lawn into a replica of the turf at Ford Field. He says that the idea came to him while he was mowing, and he immediately stopped the mower and asked his wife if he could bring the thought to life.

Her response was golden as she told him "If you do it, it better look right" and he couldn't have taken those words more literally. With the help of one of his buddies, they scaled the yard to be an exact 1/10 scale of the actual turf and used string to make the lines. The final touch was the utility paint they used to paint the field, including one of the end zones which was in his neighbor's yard.

That's one of the cool things about the Lions returning to greatness, everyone in the area is happy about it and enjoy the atmosphere that comes with it. His neighbor had no problem with the field coming to life, even if a part of her lawn is now blue. He says he'll keep it up for as long as it looks good, and his wife allows it.
