With the new order in place by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, all businesses must enforce that that all customers entering said businesses must wear a mask. A few police officers in Arenac and Sandusky have already set a bad example by saying they will not enforce Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s toughened face mask mandate that took effect Monday, and instead urge people to call Whitmer herself.

Van Buren County Sheriff Dan Abbott released a statement saying that they too would not be enforcing it. After many complaints he changed his statement, adding that the police department would:

Defer complaints of non-face mask wearers to the state police, but we will respond to address disorderly or non-compliant individuals that have been asked to leave a business and won't.

This is the only country in the world that is politicizing a virus which is why nothing is going to get better anytime soon. It also spawns this kind of behavior, a mean and derogatory note apparently written by the owner of Woody's Goodies in Gobles, warning their customers that protecting people from a deadly virus goes against their rights. The note reads:

ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK, FACE MASKS ARE OPTIONAL IN THIS STORE. IF YOUR [sic] NOT COMFORTABLE SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE ITS [sic] YOUR RIGHT AS A FREE AMERICAN. TO CHOOSE WHERE YOU SHOP AND IF YOU WANT TO WEAR A MASK. I HAVE YET TO SEE GOVENOR [sic] GRETCHEN WHITMER WEAR ANY MASK AT ALL. EVEN THOUGH SHE'S GOT SOMEONE DOING SIGN LANGUAGE STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO HER TOTAL B.S. FOLLOW YOUR OWN RULES B!TCH
