The 2014 Oscars saw lots of actresses and celebs dressed in neutrals, black and metallics. For the most part, the red carpet was tame and there were way more well-dressed ladies than there were questionably attired ones!
There was a handful of missteps and fashion misfires, though. Though we love all these actresses, here’s the PopCrush list of the Worst Dressed at the 2014 Oscars.
Anne Hathaway is lovely, but she rocked the warrior chic look with her black Gucci gown, thanks to the blingy bodice. It was a little too dressed down for the Oscars.
Kate Hudson’s off-white Atelier Versace gown, with its draping, cape-like back and statement shoulders, was too ’80s-inspired for our taste. She did take the plunge, though!
America’s sweetheart Julia Roberts misfired in this lacy black Givenchy gown with a peplum waist. It appeared ill-fitting and like it was in need of tailoring to better cling to her body.
Jennifer Garner is usually a hit on red carpets, but her silver dress didn’t strike the right notes with us, likely due to the tiered, fringed bottom. Her Oscar de la Renta gown was like flapper girl gone wrong and too long.
Liza Minnelli is a consummate diva, but this satiny blue pantsuit looked like a pair of turnt up pajamas. Seriously, this is the equivalent of someone in their 20s wearing a Juicy Couture tracksuit to the Oscars. It was too “leisurely.”
