What are they teaching in Transportation Planning Schools? First, these blasted turn-abouts, and now they narrow Portage Rd. near downtown to one lane; to make room for bicycle lanes. Really?

Bike lane and traffic,

We were headed from lunch on Miller Rd. over to downtown. So I turn right onto Portage Road. As we near Crosstown, this clown in a pickup truck is honking from behind me. Well, I'm sorry, but this is the first time I've seen Portage Road ruined to one lane. For what? Bicycle lanes.

Exactly how many bicycles do you see on Portage Rd.? You spent all this money repaving and re-configuring Portage Road for, what, maybe a dozen bicyclists.

Hey, here's an idea. If safety is your primary concern, let the bicyclists use the sidewalks. Nobody is walking on them. Or widen the sidewalks. You will no doubt see less traffic deaths with bikes and pedestrians sharing space than bikes and car side by side. Just make the bicycle riders take the same intelligence test that the Secretary of State makes drivers take.
