Visiting the zoo, a park or anywhere else on a warm summer day, you know the need to drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Yet many venues sell bottled water as exorbitant rates. So how simple and brilliant is this new water fountain installed recently at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek?

In addition to the standard bubbler, there is a downspout that is designed for the refill of plastic bottles. That's certainly a simpler solution than curving the bottle over to catch water from a traditional drinking fountain and more sanitary then taking water from a bathroom sink.

It's another idea that's so completely obvious once you see it, it makes you wonder what took us so long to think of it.

The first water bottle refill station at the zoo is installed near Kalahari Kitchen and there are others planned for around the grounds.
