This fall, Western Michigan football will have a new look as Tim Lester takes the coaching reins. But when the Broncos travel to East Lansing on Sept. 9th, Michigan State will have a different look, too.

The Spartans will be wearing white helmets. (This might actually help Spartan quarterbacks. About 20 years ago, the Buffalo Bills changed helmet colors because most of their main rivals had the same colored helmets they did.)

The Detroit News cites website, noting the Spartans haven't worn white helmets since 1954. While you're there, check out the winged helmet from the late 1940's.

The WMU/MSU game is Sept. 9th at 3:30 pm, and will be on Big Ten Network.
