It is arguably the greatest film that has ever been made. Almost 80 years later, The Wizard Of Oz can go toe-to-toe with any movie that has come out since 1939. The timeless story is about to celebrate its 80 year Anniversary, and to commemorate the date, TCM have decided to give fans a special viewing of the film in theaters.

Celebration Cinema in Portage will be one of the very few local theaters showing the film, which will be on Sunday, January 27th. The showings are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. You can purchase tickets on their website here. All the Celebration Cinema locations in Benton Harbor/ Grand Rapids/ Lansing/ Mt. Pleasant/ Muskegon and Portage will be showing the film on the same date, at the same times.

 

This may be the only time fans get to view the film in theaters, until the 100 year anniversary in 2039. Back in June of 2018, Jerry Maren, Wizard of Oz’s Last Living Munchkin, Died at 98.
