The Perfect Cup Of Hot Chocolate Is What We In West Michigan Need
As the Winter Storm Watch rages on this weekend, here is the perfect hot choclate recipe to warm up your weekend.
As you curl up after the snowy, tense drive home or the kids have just come in from building the perfect snow man, here is a great way to warm up!
I use the recipe that I discovered at Allrecipe.com and it is so comforting and yummy!
- 1/3 cup of unsweetened coco powder
- 3/4 cup of white sugar
- 3 1/2 cups of milk (I prefer whole milk)
- 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of half and half cream
- 1 pinch of salt (can leave out if you want)
- 1/3 cup of boiling water
"Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature."
Add marshmallows, dunk sugar cookies in it, or try a candy cane. Anyway you serve it, it's delicious!
Try this and I think the snowy winter nights will be warm and welcoming!
