As you curl up after the snowy, tense drive home or the kids have just come in from building the perfect snow man, here is a great way to warm up!

I use the recipe that I discovered at Allrecipe.com and it is so comforting and yummy!

  1. 1/3 cup of unsweetened coco powder
  2. 3/4 cup of white sugar
  3. 3 1/2 cups of milk (I prefer whole milk)
  4. 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  5. 1/2 cup of half and half cream
  6. 1 pinch of salt (can leave out if you want)
  7. 1/3 cup of boiling water

"Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature."

Add marshmallows, dunk sugar cookies in it, or try a candy cane. Anyway you serve it, it's delicious!

Try this and I think the snowy winter nights will be warm and welcoming!
