The Black Keys Put Kalamazoo On The Music Map

Did you know some people think Kalamazoo is a mythical place?

It’s true.  Thanks to songs from the past, many people think Kalamazoo is NOT a real city.  It’s like the Atlantis of Michigan.  Alternative rock group, The Black Keys, mention Kalamazoo in their latest single “Gotta Get Away.”  The lyrics read:

“I went from San Berdoo to Kalamazoo

Just to get away from you.
I searched far and wide, hopin’ I was wrong

But baby all the good women are gone.”

The single just went live Tuesday.  Speaking of live.  Here’s a live performance of the song.  Can you think of other songs that mention Kalamazoo or other SW Michigan cities?  Comment below.
