The superintendent of a Calhoun County school district is now barred from school property, while an investigation is conducted into his behavior.

WWMT says that Tekonsha Public Schools Superintendent Jeff Kawaski has been under investigation by the district for alleged misconduct since May, and the police became involved after the principal of Tekonsha Elementary accused him of sexually assaulting her on Monday. Principal Jennifer McGuff says that in March 2017, Kawaski touched her breasts and other body parts, while making sexual comments. She says the assault happened when she went to his apartment, to discuss a matter regarding her employment.

McGuff was placed on non-disciplinary leave in April of this year by Kawaski, and she says it was retaliatory. The Tekonsha School board of Wednesday voted to ban Kawaski from school property while their internal investigation is carried out. However, he is still working.

Kawaski has not been criminally charged, although police are looking into the allegations.
