Turn-of-the-century newspaper reports share an eye-opening tale of a 'sea serpent' said to be lurking in the waters of the St Joseph River near Union City in south-central Michigan.
The swampy area of Park Street just outside of the village's downtown area is said to be the site where a man killed his wife and then hung himself in the marshland.
UPDATE: As of 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey confirmed a 3.3 earthquake with the center located near Union City. Cities from around the surrounding area reported that they felt the quake, too.
