The cast of the Suicide Squad assembled at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, which aired April 10— not to fight evil with their trademark antihero insouciance, but to present a never-before-seen look at the upcoming DC blockbuster.

Cara Delevingne, Will Smith and Margot Robbie shared the first good look at the movie since the first official extended trailer dropped last January.

"It was the experience of a lifetime, and I can't wait to share it with you motherf---ers," Jared Leto told the screaming crowd.

"Are you ready for the worst heroes ever?" Will Smith asked the crowd, before presenting an extended introduction to the core characters, including his Floyd Lawton/Deadshot, Robbie's Harley Quinn and Jay Hernandez's El Diablo. Where the first trailer was soundtracked by Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," the vintage tunes in this one are Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me" and Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz."

The eagerly-anticipated film has undergone expensive reshoots amid rumors that Warner Brothers wanted to add more levity to its gritty tone, particularly given the mixed response to Batman v Superman's gloomy vibes. But co-star Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang, said that the reshoots are principally to add more action.

Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5, 2016 — watch the brand new preview above.
