The SPCA of SWMI has been super busy lately accepting abandoned pets from the hurricane aftermath and preparing for their Empty The Shelters event happening this Saturday, where you can adopt a pet for free. This may have influenced a change within the shelter, as they have announced today that they will be extending their hours of operation and even adding a day of operation.

Until the end of this week they will continue to open daily at 1 p.m. during the week, but starting 10/8 this is what their hours will look like:

MON- 11 A.M.-7 P.M.
TUES- 11 A.M.-7 P.M.
WED- 11 A.M.-7 P.M.
THURS- 11 A.M.-7 P.M.
FRI- 11 A.M.-7 P.M.
SAT- 11 A.M.-4 P.M.
SUN/OTHER TIMES- BY APPOINTMENT

By opening at 11 a.m. rather than 1 p.m. every day during the week, this adds 10 more hours of operation during the week which will certainly help pet owners of the area. Make sure you drop by the SPCA this weekend and meet your future best friend with fee free adoption.
