The new Sam Adams beer has an alcohol content of 28% and a price tag of $200.

Every 2 years, Samuel Adams creates a new beer and this biennial may just blow your mind!

The new brews name is Utopias and it has a price tag of $199.00 per bottle. Sam Adams describes the the taste of the beer as...

"More like a fine liquor, with a sweetness like a port or cognac and a smooth, almost buttery, malt-filled finish.

Also, the new beer is not carbonated because the alcohol content is too high and the beer would not be able to sustain the CO2. The beer is meant to be served in one ounce doses, and taken in slowly.

We here in the mitten state are able to purchase the drink (if you chose to spend that kind of cash on beer), but many states don't even have the option to blow that kind of cash on ale. It has to due with state laws regarding the high alcohol content of the beer.

States that will not be enjoying Adams new brew...

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Mississippi
  • Montana
  • New Hampshire
  • North Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Vermont
  • Washington

If I were rich I would buy the new beer for all my friends in Vermont and Washington as a Christmas gift. They should not get too excited though because I am far from rich!
