Scientific studies have shown Olympians are happier when they win a bronze medal as opposed to a silver.  You don't need science when you have video.The logic is simple.  When an athlete wins a silver medal they are left wondering if they were just half a second faster would they have won the gold.  If they win the bronze, they're wondering if they were half a second slower would they not be on the medal stand at all.

Here's proof.  Here's Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui finding out she won the Bronze.  By the way, she is 100th of a second away from a silver.  She doesn't seem disappointed at all with the Bronze does she?
