Melissa Etheridge tells hilarious stories about her time in Kalamazoo as she belts out her hits and Christmas jams at the State Theatre.

Melissa and her wife had a day off here in Kalamazoo Monday.  Maybe you bumped into them downtown and didn't even know it.  Etheridge told the story on stage Tuesday Night about walking around downtown as it began to snow.  She joked about being "thin skinned" and then getting stuck at a slow moving train that would never end as she tried to make her way on foot back to her hotel.  Stuck behind a slow moving train that will never end?  That's so Kalamazoo...and a hook for an upcoming Melissa Etheridge song?

She started the show off rocking between Christmas songs and her hits...quickly getting into one of my favorites "I Want To Come Over."

I had the opportunity to meet one of my singer/songwriter idols backstage before the show.  I fan girled a little bit and she signed my guitar.  It's worth noting that she loved my 12 string.

It was yet another great show from Melissa Etheridge in Kalamazoo.  I will happily stand out in the cold to see her again!
