I got to relive some childhood memories yesterday. Kathy and I were on our way to the lake, and stopped to get gas and there it was, a roadside farm stand filled with tomatoes, peaches and so many more veggies and fruit.

When I was a kid, I remember my dad would stop at places like this, and we'd get tomatoes and just bite into them. And that's just what I did. I ate that first tomato just like an apple. And it was sooo good. Then there's the peaches. Luscious!

And we got some cherries. Those come with memories that my kids have from me. Years ago, we were on our way to South Haven and stopped and got some cherries. And the kids, in the back seat, would eat them and toss the pits out from the top, as the car was t-topped. We laughed all the way to South Haven at what the cars behind us though about being pelted with pits.

One last thought: It's probably a good idea to have a small salt shaker or packet of salt in the glove box. Boy, the 'maters taste good!
