Due to declining sales the Mustang factory outside Detroit is shutting down for a week.

According to Bloomberg.com the car company experienced a 32% sales drop last month and decided to shut down the second largest U.S. automaker for a week. The good news is that the 3,702 workers and makers of the car will be paid during the shut down. A spokesperson for the company says production will resume on Oct. 17th. The articles Also said...

" The idling may be a sign of the growing weakness of the U.S. auto market, which had been a leading driver of economic growth. Automakers’ monthly sales have been coming up short -- though they beat expectations in September -- and many analysts are now predicting the U.S. auto industry won’t match last year’s record of 17.5 million cars and light trucks."

My thought is that the Mustang is an American classic. How can we possible stop producing a car that has influenced kids, helped men through their mid-life crisis's and of course, assisted in creating some of of the best songs ever written!
