Michigan State University technnology researchers are working to make self-driving cars safer, using computer and digital technology to overcome dangerous red flags associated with current self-driving cars.The Lansing State-Journal reports that the MSU researchers are working to overcome lane detection problems posed by the use of cameras. The cameras are susceptible to malfunction due to road glare (caused by sunlight) and snow.

The MSU researchers are testing a combination of radar lasers and sensors. The goal is to increase the number of fail-safes available to the automobile.
