The weather is shifting this weekend and we may see rain for Christmas.

The first day of winter brought us warm (or should I say warmer) temps this year. The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year, from now on days will become longer until the first day of summer.

In the meantime we can expect a "melt down" this holiday weekend. According to Freep.com

"The big warm-up will be coming into the weekend," Weather Service meteorologist Alex Manion said, adding that computer simulations show temperatures reaching as high as the upper 40s into Monday.

There's a chance for snow Friday night into Saturday morning. Then from Sunday to Monday, there's about a 60-70% chance of rain, with freezing drizzle possible, he said."

The great news is I think we have enough snow to last us through Christmas. I say never give up hope for a white Christmas.
