Mackinac Island has just been voted one of the Best Island in the United States

Growing up in Michigan we all know of, or have traveled to Mackinac Island for a weekend get-a-way, or family vacation. Now, Mackinac has been voted the 6th greatest island in America.

Conde Nast Traveler poled their readers and the results are in, Mackinac Island made the list of best islands...

The review said the Grand Hotel is "is looking great for 131 years old" and that travelers have to "travel by horse and carriage or bicycle" upon arrival.

The review did not even mention the delicious fudge, the dining, the great music and nightlife. Having spent many days of my youth on the island, I am not surprised that it is one of the best places out great state and country has to offer.
