Every Thursday we welcome a new visitor, along with Katie Timber from the SPCA of SW Michigan, for Dog Days! I think my favorite part about Dog Days, besides the fact that I get to just...hang out with some animals, is that these animals are so different. But, they all have one thing in common. They all need their new, forever homes.

This is Maggie. Maggie was with a family for 14 years who, unfortunately, had to give her up. They were moving and weren't allowed to take her with them. A tragic story, yes, but thankfully they made the decision to turn her over to the SPCA where they knew she'd be in good hands.

Maggie is a senior citizen as far as cats are concerned, a tad bit overweight, and camera shy. She is very laid back, has a very sweet demeanor and just kind of kept to herself, something I can appreciate about older cats. They come to you for love and attention when they want it and then do their own thing when they don't. Katie said Maggie was a bit timid around her other cats who were, as she described them, bullies. So, if you have another animal at home an introduction may be in order.

Maggie is currently available for adoption at the SPCA of SW Michigan along with a number of other animals. If Maggie isn't right for your household, check out these other cuties looking for their forever home here.

The SPCA is open to small groups of people at a time. You can find their updated hours, information, ways to give and programs to help homeless animals in our area here.

We feature a new pet for Dog Days every Thursday around 7:35am on both the radio and Facebook Live. Tune in next week to see if our next featured pet may be right for you!

And, as always, if you know someone who would be the perfect fit for Maggie, please share. Let's find her her new home ❤️
