If perhaps the third season finale of FXX and Jay Baruchel’s Man Seeking Woman seemed like it invalidated the title premise, there’s good reason. FXX has confirmed that Man Seeking Woman will not return for Season 4, as the Simon Rich-inspired series comes to a close.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, FXX has declined to order additional seasons of the low-rated, but fan-favorite comedy, which most recently averaged only 367,000 viewers (268,000 in the 18-49 demographic) for seven days of viewing. If nothing else, Season 3 offered a definitive end with Josh (Jay Baruchel) marrying Lucy (Katie Findlay).

Here’s how Season 3 unfurled:

Man Seeking Woman is back with a surreal new season about the life-and-death stakes of dating. “Josh Greenberg” (Jay Baruchel) has battled a lot in his quest for love (flesh-eating monsters, homicidal aliens). But this season will see him face his toughest challenge yet: a serious, long-term relationship. Together, Josh and Lucy (Katie Findlay) will take on anniversaries, merging friend groups, ruthless drug lords, friendly forest creatures, student loans and even God himself. In order to make it, they’ll have to work together and learn to live their lives as a team.

The series also starred comedian Eric Andre and actor Britt Lower, who recently moved onto Hulu’s Future Man. Man Seeking Woman is streaming in FX’s archive, so stay tuned for the latest.
