M Spa in Portage New Owners, Name: Centre Spa & Wellness

M Spa Salon and Spa in Portage made headlines last May due to a customer, Ashley Bays, claiming that the owner, Michelle Mott, mistreated her 2-year-old boy with autism, while they were at the salon for Ashley's haircut.

Due to the incident, business dropped significantly, so in November the salon sold to new owners, Shayne and Lincoln Crocker, according to MLive.

Shayne and Lincoln Crocker recently turned M Spa Salon and Spa into Centre Spa & Wellness (located at 2276 E. Centre Ave., Portage).

"I love working with people and I love being in the service industry," Shayne Crocker told MLive. "I love making people smile and feel good about themselves. And I feel like that's my goal -- to help others find their center, be happy and give them the best service I can."

"We offer everything for hair and nail needs, facials, body massages and massage treatments, and waxing," she continued.

According to MLive, it took the Crockers through the holidays to re-staff their salon, since so many had left due to the incident with the little boy. After the holiday season, they have been able to aquire a staff of 17 workers: Six hair stylists, five massage therapists, three receptionists, along with nail technicians.

"I think guest service is the most important thing, making people feel comfortable," Shayne Crocker told MLive. "The guest experience is the most important thing."
