The annual Safe Halloween celebration in downtown Kalamazoo is midday Saturday (11a-1pm) at Bronson Park.

The Safe Halloween is a family friendly event with not only activities but also trick-or-treating in a safe and supervised environment. The city says there will be free cider and donuts while supplies last and lots of candy!

The contests include Pumpkin Racing, a photo contest and, obviously, a costume contest. A pumpkin carving demonstration is also among the activities.

Because of the city's fascination with food trucks, food will be for sale from food trucks.

“We are really excited to welcome the families in our community to Bronson Park for another year of fall fun,” said Sean Fletcher, Director of the City of Kalamazoo’s Parks & Recreation Department. “It’s always wonderful to see the community come together, the children dressed in creative costumes, and everyone having a great time.”
