We just found out that the Kwings will be playing on national TV right before the Super Bowl.  Joe Roberts from the Kwings sent us the details...

The ECHL announced that the 2016 CCM/ECHL Hockey Heritage Game between the Toledo Walleye and Kalamazoo Wings will be aired nationally on the NHL Network on Sunday, February 7 at 12:00 p.m., prior to Super Bowl 50, which is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. EST.

This rivalry game will be a tape-delay showing from the previous night on February 6, when the two teams face-off at Wings Event Center as part of a two-game weekend set celebrating the game and the long history of minor league hockey both cities have showcased. As part of the festivities, both teams will be wearing “futuristic” CCM Edge jerseys for the first time in the ECHL.

“We are thrilled to be able to showcase our League and our signature showcase event to a national audience this Season,” said Ryan Crelin, Senior Vice President of Business Operations of the ECHL. “As sports’ fans everywhere get ready for Super Bowl 50, we are very pleased to supplement their pre-game with some exciting ECHL hockey highlighting a minor league rivalry of over 40 years.”
