Kalamazoo Tree Lighting Ceremony Is Friday Night

Kalamazoo's official tree lighting ceremony will be Friday evening at Bronson Park.

The city has a series of activities planned, beginning at 5:00pm, that include "Santa's Workshop" and the creation of an ice sculpture.

The actual tree lighting ceremony starts at 6:00pm with the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, and the members of the City Commission reading "Twas the Night before Christmas.".

The city is asking for people who are coming to Bronson Park to bring a non-perishable food item for the "Stuff the Sleigh" program, and or a cash donation for the YWCA's domestic violence shelter.
