A Kalamazoo harpist has launched a fund-raising campaign in hopes of being able to purchase a pedal harp.

James Golembiewski currently plays a lever harp, which operates with manual levers. A pedal harp, according to Golembiewski, allows for quicker transitions and a fuller range of notes.

Golembiewski's goal for Project Pedal Harp is to raise enough funding to acquire a pedal harp through the sales of tickets, CD’s, and t-shirts.

His first scheduled events is a performance at The Red Room, at 5301 Comstock Ave, in the area of Sprinkle Rd. and Lake St. on Saturday, October 22nd at 9pm. Tickets are free and can be obtained by emailing Harptickets@gmail.com.
