It may not look special, but it is!

Thanksgiving is coming up in a few weeks, and people are gearing up for it. My sister in-law will be hosting this years dinner and I have been put in charge of deserts. Normally, I would bring a home made apple pie (my specialty) and a pumpkin pie. Of course I always bring whipped cream in a can and a half gallon of french vanilla ice cream.

I always thought I had it easy...heck, my pumpkin pie comes out of a can with a couple of eggs and some evaporated milk. This year is going to be different story thanks to Meijer, and yes it is even easier then pie from a can (and tastes better too).

I was doing my weekly shopping and was chit-chatting with my ladies at the Deli counter in Meijer (on Gull Road). When they told me about this new desert they had called 'Almond Ginger Desert', they gave me a sample and...WOW! It was delicious. I did not expect to like it and I was right, I did not like it, I LOVED it! This creamy pudding  mixture tasted exactly like pumpkin pie except that it has thinly sliced almonds in it...so stupid good!

Then it hit me, a unique and super easy Thanksgiving desert. Here is all you need...

  • Pre-made graham cracker crust
  • Cool Whip
  • A couple of pounds of Almond Ginger Desert

Fill the pie crust with the Almond Ginger Desert and top with Cool Whip! Super easy and I think my family is going to flip for it. Easy and yummy makes me do somersaults, now I am really looking forward to the feast.
