Can you imagine getting ticketed for warming up your car before work or school?  It's happening in the state of Michigan.

According to The Michigan Motor Vehicle Code (R28-1458 & 257.676),

You are in violation by “leaving a vehicle unattended on any street or any other place without first stopping the engine, locking the ignition and removing the ignition key.

UPDATE: Law updated to allow Michigan residence to leave a running vehicle unattended in their private driveway according to MLive,

An administrative rule, which allowed for unattended running vehicles parked in private driveways to be ticketed, was rescinded as part of a bill that cleared the Michigan legislature. Gov. Rick Snyder signed the bill into law last week.

This is just some old law that police do not enforce.  According to Fox 7 in Detroit, a Roseville man was received a $128 ticket for warming up his car in his own driveway.

What do you think?  Does this law make sense?
