What did you do?

Last night Suzannah and I went out to dinner to support Kalamazoo's Seventh Annual CARES' Dining Out For Life.

Thanks to this fundraiser, at least 25 percent of peoples' food bills at nearly 40 participating local restaurants went toward fighting AIDS in our community.

We ended up having a delicious meal at Sakura in Portage.

During the event, my girlfriend Suzannah and I met Dave Watts, prevention team leader for CARES, who was helping to work the fundraiser. Dave was walking around explaining to everyone what the deal with Dining Out for Life was and taking donations. Great work, my friend!

Not only was this event awesome, but I now have a new BFF.

While at Sakura, Suzannah and I started up conversation with the couple next to us at the Hibachi table.

Jess and I became immediate besties. I quoted Will Ferrell from the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (I said "I don't know what do with my hands!"), and she loved it. Surprisingly, her boyfriend Alex has never even seen Anchorman! Has he been in space for the last decade? Not to mention, Jess actually had the DVD with her! (Again, my new bestie.)
