Honor Credit Union held 'Shred Day' and now has another community event  that benefits our Veterans.

On Saturday, Honor Credit Union in Plainwell held 'Shed Day'for the community! Even if you were not a member, you could bring up to 10 boxes to be shredded, plus cookies and goodies for all.

While enjoying the day, I found out that Adele, the manager, was taking on an incredible challenge. Adele is doing a 12 hour run to raise money for veterans. www.honorcu.com announced...

"Honor's Plainwell and Allegan Branch Manager, Adele Garcia, will embark on a 12-hour, 40-mile fundraising run touring five Honor locations in Southwest Michigan on May 25th. She will begin her run at 5 a.m. at Honor's Operations Center and make stops at the Stevensville, St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, and Berrien Springs branches before finishing back at the Operations Center at 5:30 p.m."

The reason why she is taking on this challenge is because she a wounded veteran herself.

Adele's Story

"Adele's goal is to raise $13,000. That is $1,000 for every year she has been alive since being wounded in Iraq while serving in the U.S. Army."
