After the tragic event that took the life of 18 year old Alyssa Elsman and injured her younger sister Ava, two GoFundMe pages have been set up to help.

Kaitlyn Jayne McGuire of Portage had this to say on the GoFundMe page she created,

On may 18, 2017 Alyssa was taken from this world way to soon, from the tragic accident that took place in New York. Alyssa was a beautiful soul. Her sister, Ava was also injured in the accident but is pulling thru, her surgery turned out very well. Any and all donations for the family are helpful. All funds will be going to pay for the medical bills and memorial. Alyssa was like a sister to me, she was the best friend my sister could had asked for.

Amy Elsman Ryman also created a GoFundMe page on Friday to benefit the family of Alyssa,

I am Amy Elsman Ryman from southeastern Michigan. Alyssa Elsman is my cousin's daughter. My family would like to raise funds to help her parents as they deal with her tragic death, which occurred in Times Square in NYC on May 18. The funds would be used for various expenses including Ava's medical bills and other costs. We will donate the funds directly to the family after 30 days. Please keep them all in your thoughts.
Help spread the word!

The Elsman family has enough to deal with as they mourn the loss of Alyssa.  Let's make sure funeral and medical costs aren't also weighing down this West Michigan family.
