Kalamazoo's Cracker Barrel Restaurant today became the third restaurant to close a location. The restaurant, off 9th Street and Interstate 94 is shutting down immediately.

WWMT's Kate Tillotson reports the facility had been trying eradicate a salmonella problem but failed.

That Cracker Barrel location was also the third and final stop in a shooting spree that left six people dead. Four people were killed at that location. Jason Dalton will go on trial in January, charged with those deaths.

The Cracker Barrel closing is the third restaurant to shut down a location in the the past two weeks. Theo and Stacy's closed their Portage Road restaurant on Wednesday. Rykse's location on Stadium Drive was sold to the DeNooyer family, who expand their car dealership business. Rykse's will consolidate to their Texas Township location.

The good news for fans of Cracker Barrel is that the Battle Creek restaurant off of Interstate 94 is open and dispensing biscuits and gravy and homespun folks charm.
