Usually when I take Gia to dance class at the Mosaic Hall & Dance Center in Portage, she is so excited!

When I pick her up from daycare on Wednesday, I remind her that dance is that night. She says, "Yay!" and claps her hands.

Well, last night's dance experience did not include any clapping and "Yays!"

After I got her dressed in her leotard and tights, Gia and I went out to the lobby where she joined her little friends and they started playing tag.

She was having a ball running around and giggling. But when it was time to stop playing tag, that's when Gia turned from happy little girl to a little monster.

Gia threw the biggest tantrum in front of all the parents and kids. She didn't want to stop playing tag!

I went back and forth with her, "If you don't want to dance, then we're going home."

She DID NOT like that option and continued to have a melt down.

I wanted to leave my body and float away, because I was so embarassed by her behavior. Nothing I did made anything better.

So, we sat there and watched dance class for a good half an hour. Then she asked if she could dance and I told her that she had to ask the teacher. I told her it's her responsibility to ask, since she is now considered late. She started crying AGAIN and asked me to do it. After 50 times of her asking me to ask the teacher, I gave in and finally asked if Gia could join the class.

She said, "Yes."

So I was like, "Great, she can dance for the last half an hour."

Immediately, when Gia found out that they were going to a different room, she threw another fit. OMG! Thankfully one of the other young teachers took Gia into the other room and sat with her.

I really felt like running out the door, so I could hide and throw my own adult fit. THAT won't be happening again!
