I don't know about you, but escapism is looking pretty good right about now. So I've put together a list of 5 movies and TV shows that you can binge on tonight rather than have to deal with the reality of today's election.Grab some popcorn and maybe your phone. (However you watch or stream these days) Some of these may be hard to find, but maybe a friend can lend you a DVD.

1. Dave

Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver in a feel good movie. Yes, it's a bit far-fetched, but who knows what we don't know?

2. The Candidate

This movie is a bit dated, but it's a good movie, and Redford was eye candy back in the day.

3. The West Wing

One of the greatest TV series ever. Period. Aaron Sorkin is a brilliant writer. I know West Wing is on at least Netflix. Or maybe you have the box sets. It's that good. And if you haven't seen this supercut of "Sorkin-isms", enjoy. (they're not all West Wing, but Sports Night is the greatest series no one seems to have ever watched.)

4. House of Cards

If you know me, you know how much I love House of Cards. No, it's not a feel good. It's probably too real, more than we will ever know. But it's really good.

(Netflix US and Canada via YouTube)

5. The original British House of Cards

Treat yourself some weekend. Watch the original British version of House of Cards. It's every bit as good, and only six hours long, start to finish. It's on Netflilx, too. And probably at the library on tape. You're welcome
