Firekeepers Casino has extended it's agreement with NASCAR to be the title sponsor for the Firekeepers 400, a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Firekeepers has been the title sponsor of the June race since 2016, which started out in 1969 as the Motor State 500, and then Motor State 400 in 1970. It has had numerous name sponsors since then. The August NASCAR race is currently the Pure Michigan 400. Terms and length of the extension were not announced.

According to wikipedia, ground was broken on construction of Michigan International Speedway in September of 1967, and the first race was a year later. Roger Penske bought the track in 1972 and owned it outright until a merger in 1999 with ISC, its current owner.
