By now, Finding Dory is one of the biggest hits in the history of Pixar. But did you know it’s also one of the biggest animated movies of all time and one of the 50 highest grossing films of any kind ever? That’s just one of the facts we found in the depths of the internet for this new episode of You Think You Know Movies!

The original Finding Nemo came out well over a decade ago. For a while, Disney pursued a sequel to the movie without the involvement of Pixar, through their short-lived Circle 7 Animation Studio. That studio was shut down in 2006, and their Finding Nemo 2 was abandoned. The project came back to life around 2010, when director Andrew Stanton rewatched Finding Nemo while prepping its 3D re-release, and realized there was more he could do with the character of Dory. He began developing the story, though it took many drafts to arrive at the version that made it to theaters. One idea that got abandoned: An adopted sister for Dory.
