Summer is winding down and it's back to reality for a lot of us very soon.

So before summer is over, do yourself a favor and relax in one of these serene Michigan places.

#1 My favorite spot in Marshall is Stuart's Landing which is part of the Marshall Riverwalk. Take a stroll along the Kalamazoo River through the woods and even see some historic sites on the way. The waterfall below is a great place to just stop and take the peacefulness of nature in. I've even seen people fishing there if that's something that relaxes you. Click on the riverwalk link above to see the full course you can walk.

#2 A great place in Portage is Celery Flats. It's more than just a park, there's a whole historical area with buildings that have been relocated and restored. From the walking trails to picnic areas, it's a huge place with plenty of spots to lose yourself in meditation with nature. To learn more about this beautiful outdoor space you can click on the link for Celery Flats.

#3 If you live in Battle Creek, Leila Arboretum is a beautiful place to escape from the stress of the city. There's the Kaleidoscope garden where you can take a nice peaceful stroll and soak in the beauty around you. The cool thing is that there is no daily admission or parking fees. If you'd like to know more about Leila Arboretum you can click on the link provided.

These are free outdoor places to relax that people suggested to me. If there is a favorite place you love to just go and chill out, feel free to share with us.
